Front Cover Image Shading

This is the original image for our front cover. As she is looking down the camera lens with an angered look on her face, the artist is seen to be powerful. The costume is also good as it isn't too revealing and is very stylish, which will appeal young girls in today's society.

I originally got rid of the background by using a the magnetic lasso tool, which I found the easiest out of all of them. I then went around all the edges so that I was able to get rid of any areas that weren't perfect and ruined the image. I did this by using the rubber tool, while I changed the sizes and how far I zoomed in as this enabled me to create a greater image.

The video above is from Youtube. It allowed me to create an effective shadow as if the image was from a photoshoot in a proper studio. It taught me how to create an effective shadow, that I could then apply to my image for the front cover of my magazine and get a professional looking piece. I will then be able to work around it to create the rest of the magazine cover, as this will be the centrepiece of it.
